Deepam From The Garage

File under: Gurubusting

[Ed.note: This was slipped into our email box late last night. Just when you thought it was over, the Nithyananda onion gives up another layer.]

Dear Friends of Guruphiliac,

In the interest of truth, I am coming forward as a source of information on the empire that was Nithyananda. My name is Deepam Throat, and I suggest you follow the money with me. All of those flimsy charges of "corrupting the minds of believers" are really nothing compared to the possible violation of Indian, International, and U.S. financial and tax laws. Here is the information I have found easily on the web:

According to Lenin Karuppan, who broke the scandal wide open:
The Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, fugitive godman Nithyananda's so-called abode of healing and spirituality, was also the centre of a thriving business which his younger brother, Nithyeshwar Ananda ran. The Nithyananda Imports & Exports company is "registered in the name of Nithyananda's brother and another ashram member."

Nithyeshwar, who is believed to have fled the Bidadi ashram along with Nithyananda on March 2 when the scandal broke, is in charge of all accounts for the Dhyanapeetam's India operations since 2004. According to Karuppan, who was a Dhyanapeetam insider since 2006, "all books, gift article, statues (made of wood, stone, marble and metal) etc are sent to the United States and other countries through this company."

Karuppan admitted he did not have access to all financial records of the Dhyanapeetam. "But I have firsthand information with regards to Galleria department accounts, of which I had direct knowledge, and through my close association with other top department heads and inner circle members I have indirect knowledge.
(Mangalorean April 4)

By doing a simple search, I found a bill of lading for a shipment totaling 17,031 kilograms from Nithyananda Exports & Imports to "NITHYANANDA DHYANPEETAM TEMPLE & CULTURAL CENTER." (This confirms what Lenin was saying.)

The Temple is a non-profit corporation which is not required to file tax records. The weight of that one shipment was over 17,000 kg! This is a shipment from one company registered in India to a non-profit in the U.S. A tunnel, so to speak, of tons of tax-free goods that was resold at exorbitant prices.

There are at least 7 corporations in the US, in California, associated with Nithyananda. A simple search on the California web site resulted in this list:
INTERNATIONAL GOVERNING BODY COMMISSION OF NITHYANANDA DHYANAPEETAM AND NITHYANANDA MISSION

NITHYANANDA ANNA MANDIR

NITHYANANDA DHYANAPEETAM OF SAN JOSE

NITHYANANDA DHYANAPEETAM TEMPLE & CULTURAL CENTER

NITHYANANDA FOUNDATION

NITHYANANDA YOGA & MEDITATION UNIVERSITY

NITHYANANDA YOGA FOUNDATION, INC.
Why does a simple monk need so many corporations? Even SYDA has only one!

As you can see from this investigation of public records, Nithyananda, Inc., was doing a brisk and lucrative business for at least 6 years. This may be just the tip of the iceberg. Or perhaps the tip of the Himalayas, if you prefer.

Just follow the money. That is all. Meet me here again in the future. I will contact you. Until then, be blissful!

Regards,

Deepam Throat

The question is who said monks shouldn't run organizations? Looks like the sex allegation is not working, why not conviniently shift this into some other scandal!

All this while I was really feeling for his younger bro, who I thought must have been badly hit by all this. Shocked to hear he is in on all this.

Nithy's elder brother, Selvam (iirc), did come across as a sharp cookie, and an arrogant chap -- only friendly and polite with the American (westerner read: dollar) crowd.

Deepam Throat here-the Indian govt is in fact going after financial records of Nithys and his associates:

Acting stealthily, the Karnataka Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Monday conducted raids at the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam ashram of sex scandal-tainted self-proclaimed godman Nithyananda, now on the run, and searched the premises before seizing documents.
The day-long operation yielded several documents, including registers, that were recovered from the headquarters of the cult organisation located at Kallugopahalli in the Bidadi taluk of Ramanagara district
CID sleuths are at present going through the documents and registers in an attempt to unearth evidence related to the godman’s financial resources, land acquisition, and links with women brahmacharinis,” sources said. “We suspect he has destroyed some incriminating papers.”

The sleuths are particularly interested in finding out the relationship Nithayanda had with some individual brahmacharis and brahmacharinis.

Sources said they are also trying to find out how instrumental Nithyananda’s so-called secretary T Dhanasekaran, alias Sadhananda, alias Aiyya, was in the godman’s land acquisition deals

Not only were hugh quantities "sacred arts" objects exported to the USA duty-free. It was unpacked, processed by slave "ananda sevaks" and ashramites working long hours for some skimpy meals - no housing, no transportation or any allowance provided. These slaves were to expect nothing for their many long hours of unpaid labor so they may become eligible for enlightenment!

Might I ask, Sir, if Nithya Deepam Throat Ananda is the spiritual name accorded to you by Swamiji.

Or is it the nick name used during the Tantric sex meditations for celibates.

Me is wondering that the "Complete Unabridged Uncensored Official Real Biography of Swami Nithyananda" may be found within the comments of this blog itself.

What better way to get way ahead of the crowd in money laundering, drug running, racketeering, profiteering, smuggling and MLM than a cult of personality? This guy is smart, I admire him. The folks who were in on the deals are most probably better off by a few million dollars now.

Dear Deepam
I was a devotee of Nithyananda till recently, and I know for a fact that a huge number of stautes of gods and goddesses were shipped to US for installation at the temples and Centres there. that probably explains the 17 ton weight and I don't think there is any reason just yet to jump to the conclusion that these were commercial goods meant for being resold at exorbitant prices. Anyway the truth will be out soon, but I thought I would add this as I have seen these statues being shipped from Chennai with proper documents.

Deepam Throat- While appearantly the CID did raid the ashram, I fear it was to late to recover anything of substance. The 'Jewish Lightning' that struck the ashram shortly after the release of the video probably assured nothing too incriminating was left. Funny, the police suggest that these fires were not started by the angry town mob, as they were cleared out prior to the fires. Just sayin.

I see Indooism as a perversion of Vedic yogic practice by commercial fake gurus.

A new word is needed for the modern distortion of an old ideal. This commerical exploitation is not Hindu Sanatan Dharma. It is Indooism, not Hinduism. lol

From the Decan Herald:

Bangalore April 9: A number of rich California-based non-resident Indians (NRIs), who donated huge sums of money and property to self-proclaimed godman Nithyananda, are now feeling cheated and demanding return of their gifts, grants and contributions.

In the light of the revelations made in the now infamous video that shows Nithyananda in a compromising position with a Tamil actress, one of the main donors, Popat Savla, an American citizen living in Montclair, California, has told Nithyananda's senior associates in no uncertain terms that he wants his $2.5 million donation back.

Some of the NRIs Deccan Herald spoke to are appalled at the manner in which they were cheated and are now planning to file complaints in the US against Nithyananda and some of his close associates, including T Dhanasekaran, alias Sadhananda, alias Aiyya, who, among other duties, was tasked with "de-programming" the mind of devotees.
Speaking to Deccan Herald over phone, Savla, a realtor, said: "After the video, which I am convinced shows Nithyananda having sex with a woman, I am now not inclined to believe some of his other fake claims he made to devotees in the US to give an impression he was in the same league as some of India's other more famous godmen."
Savla explained that during a 2007 visit to Montclair, Nithyananda showed interest in a 30,000 square feet plot of land over which there was located a Greek Orthodox church.
"He purchased the property for $2.5 million on mortgage which I took the responsibility of settling," Savla told. The NRI, who has demanded that the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam return his contribution, said that other Indians living in California and other parts of the US, are now disillusioned and feel cheated. "All of us want our money, which is in millions of dollars, back," Savla said.

It is learnt that from his hiding place Nithyananda, till last week in Nepal, called up some of these rich Indians and tried to give them inducements to stay on with his organisation. The NRIs have told him in clear terms that they have nothing to do with his cult organisation.

What has hurt devotees in the US as well as in India are his "lies" and "fake" claims that he performed the Mahabhishekham at the Mahavira's statute in Shravanabelgola in 2007, that he was gifted a pair of golden 'padukas' by Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi on Gurupurnima three years ago and that he was weighed in gold by Balagangadharanatha swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt.

When contacted, Shravanabelgola temple administration special officer Madan Gowda denied Nithyananda had ever performed the Mahabhishekha. Likewise, Adichunchanagiri Mutt manager Shivaram also denied the godman ever having been weight by gold by Balagangadharanatha swamiji. However, speaking to Deccan Herald, the seer admitted Nithyananda "met me several times".

there seems to now be a hysterical frenzy to make every action of Nithyananda out to be suspect.
there are many absolutely legit reasons to have multiple organizations/corporations and as any fool can tell from the numerous bankruptcies in this recession, existence of a corporation infers nothing about the wealth of an organization. Hey each one could be worth $1000. whoopee. and there is nothing inherently nefarious about shipping goods from India to the U.S either. why not relax and stop working yourself into a frenzy ov and focus on facts.

Deccan Herald report
CID in possession of ‘confidential, non-disclosure agreement’Godman’s tantra sex practices exposed Chandan Nandy, Bangalore, Apr 12, DHNS:

Self-styled godman Nithyananda was for long involved in several kinds of perversions, including tantra sex and viewing of pornography with select male and female ashramites at his Bidadi ashram.

Deccan Herald is in possession of a document, described as a “confidential, non-disclosure agreement”, signed between one Ma Nithyasadhananda, alias D Jamunarani, and a female ashramite whose identity is not being revealed for legal reasons.

Copies of this document are now in the possession of the Karnataka CID which is investigating criminal cases, including rape and unnatural sex, against Nithyananda. The ashramite signed this document on September 3, 2005.

According to the 10-page document, “Volunteer understands that the Program may involve the learning and practice of ancient tantric secrets associated with male and female ecstasy, including the use of sexual energy for increased intimacy/spiritual connection, pleasure, harmony, and freedom”.

Details

The document says: “Volunteer understands that these activities (tantra sex) could be physically and mentally challenging, and may involve nudity, access to visual images, graphic visual depictions, and descriptions of nudity and sexual activity, close physical proximity and intimacy, verbal and written descriptions and audio sounds of a sexually oriented, and erotic nature, etc.”

It is understood that no less than 25 such documents were signed by various male and female ashramites as agreements between them and Nithyananda. The document continues that “By reading and signing the addendum, Volunteer irrevocably acknowledges that he/she is voluntarily giving his unconditional acceptance of such activities and discharges the Leader (Nithyananda) and the Foundation, and anyone else not specifically mentioned here but directly or indirectly involved in the organization, management, or conduct of any such programs from any liability, direct or indirect, arising from such activities”.

Nithyananda has not denied the existence of such a document(s). The agreement is not a legal document in that it was not signed on by the two persons as part of an affidavit or on stamp paper that could have some legal sanctity.

But the document says: “Volunteer also waives any and all rights that he/she may have to bring any law suit or claims against the Leader or Foundation or anyone else not specifically mentioned here, but directly or indirectly involved in the management and conduct of the program”.

‘Forbidden by law’

Former devotee Lenin Karuppan, who exposed Nithyananda’s sexcapades, has alleged that devotees were subjected to sexual and other forms of physical and verbal abuse by the godman.

Speaking to Deccan Herald senior advocate M T Nanaiah said, “such a document constitutes an agreement between two parties” but “tantra, and especially tantra sex, is forbidden by law. These acts are outside the purview of law and therefore illegal”.

Nice, but has there ever been a formal summons for Nithy to appear in court or before an investigatory panel? Without that, he is still scot free by law, and we can keep screaming ourselves hoarse ad infinitum.

Could this guy be a conduit for politicians and businessmen's black money, therefore enjoying their protection? You often see political bigshots visiting this guy, sri sri sri sri ravi ravi ravi shankar and other questionable "saints".

This criminal Asaram Bapu comes to mind. Claims to be "self realised" master, and is fully in money laundering business, all politicians come to him for blessings and goes away giving him big bags of cash which he launders into white money.

This asaram bapu ordered the murder of his secretary in cold blood in Ahmedabad, but he walked out because of political support.

Godman nabbed from his HP hideout; to be flown in today
Nithyananda arrested
Chandigarh, Apr 21, DH News Service:

Nearly two months after being in hiding following the expose of his sex romp with a Tamil actress in his Bidadi ashram near Bangalore, self-styled godman Nithyananda was arrested in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh along with four other associates on Wednesday afternoon.

Nithyananda’s hideout in Shivshankargarh village under Arki police station was busted in a meticulously planned joint operation by a Karnataka-Himachal Pradesh CID team. The sleuths seized Rs 3 lakh and $7,000 in cash, three laptops, three video cameras, seven cell phone handsets, five SIM cards and a host of documents from the house in which the four were holed up for over a month.

The four associates of Nithyananda have been identified as Gopal Sheelum Reddy, alias Bhaktananda, who heads Nithyananda’s so-called spiritual and healing foundations in the US, Nithya Sanatanananda, Arpit Sangil, who briefly headed the godman’s Singapore ashram, and Arun Raj.

In another blow to Nithyananda, the godman’s anticipatory bail was rejected by the Ramanagara district court near Bangalore. In the case Nithyananda filed in the Karnataka High Court, seeking quahing of investigations against him, the single judge bench of Justice Arali Nagaraj directed the police to submit all records in respect of the arrest and status of the probe.

Two days back, a Sriperumbudur court near Chennai had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Nithyananda.

Vital clues on the godman’s whereabouts came from a cell phone number whose SIM card originated in an UP town. His precise location was detected near Sayri and Mamlig cell phone towers which indicated the movement of the accused persons in Mamlig panchayat.

Following this discovery, some plainclothes police men were deployed in the area.
The police monitored the calls, several of which were made to numbers in California and different parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and zeroed-in on Shivshankargarh village. Following door-to-door enquiries, the team knocked on the doors of the house in which the five had taken shelter. Nithyananda was attired in saffron robes and his four associates were also present when they were told they were under arrest.

Preliminary examination of the laptops, which had wireless Internet facility, indicate that some threat emails were sent out to persons in the US.

Solan Superintendent of Police Prem Thakur said the district police received information from the Karnatka CID concerning Nithyananda’s movement in the area on April 19.
Police sources said, a two-member Karnataka CID team comprising two deputy superintendents of police left for Solan three days back before teaming up with Himachal Pradesh CID sleuths. The Karnataka CID team was led by DSP N S Hussain. After cordoning off the “target” house, the slueths arrested the godman and his four devotees in a three-hour-long operation.

The four were later taken to Shimla for interrogation. Karnataka CID additional director general of police R V Guruprasad said the five arrested persons will be brought to Bangalore early Thursday evening. But the five will be produced before a Solan or Shimla court where the sleuths will seek a transit warrant for them to be taken to Bangalore.

Earlier, the Karnataka police had registered cases against Nithyananda on the charges of rape, committing unnatural sex, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, cheating, deliberate and malicious act intended to outrage the religious sentiments under sections 295 A, 376, 377, 420, 506(1) and 120 of the Indian Penal Code.
