The Maharishi Wants Your Kids

File under: Satscams and The Siddhi of PR

Simply stated, the TM™ organization wants to indoctrinate your children. They would like to teach every child in the U.S. their meditation technique, to the exclusion of all other methods. They'll whip out all their famously-slanted pseudo-science to make the case theirs is best, but the bottom line is that they honestly believe they are going to take over the world, and they see your kids as their last resort to make it all happen.

Also, it is a religion, with a leader who believes he is God. It's really just a simple and overt world-domination scheme, [Bonus horror: mouse over the world map at the top of this page to meet the God and the "king" he has appointed to lead you.] all behind a smoke-screen of "lower crime rates" and "Maharishi effects" propaganda they're perpetually spewing.

Seriously, folks, especially those of you with children. Beware.

Hey, you can buy bonds in the Raam, the Maha-Rash-i's worthless company scrip. And since the interest you'll get is returned as Raam, they can just print more to make up for it! Financial genius! This is almost as good as the Federal Reserve ("Now is a good time to buy subprime homes")!

Seriously maybe they are hiring, I think my econ 101 could do them so good and I could get some of Rash's high-grade herbal remedy.

Um, just when did Maharishi proclaim himself to be God? First I've heard of it.

Clearly, he is thought of as the highest being on the planet –– by himself and his people. That makes him a person who believes he's God, although he may keep the self-proclamations on the DL.

I'd have to agree with Jody. A man who feels it is his right to name the King of the World, would have to have an extremely high opinion of his place in the pecking order.

The danger is all the greater because all the testing mandated by the No Child Left Behind program has meant less time to teach science--real science--in the public schools.

Leaving the children all the more vulnerable to those peddling pseudoscience.
